Krista's Testimony Like many other working professionals, a desk job took its toll on my body; 30 pounds gained over the course of the 3 years post-college graduation. While I've been a relatively healthy eater my whole life, the inactivity was doing a number on me. After my husband, Braden, and I got married in December 2017, I decided enough was enough! Being the type-A human that I am, I researched 15+ gyms in the greater Kansas City area. If I was going to commit to a place (and to paying for a membership) I wanted to be sure it had what I was looking for.

What was I looking for? A little bit of everything honestly. and I think a part of me was being picky so I didn't have to commit to something, but Freight House delivered.

  1. Group classes! I don't want to have to think when I walk into a gym. My job forces me to think enough, when I go to workout I just want to show up. Freight House = class driven!

  2. Low time commitment! I already spend 8+ hours a day in the office, another 2+ for normal life, and what's left I spend with Braden; I don't want to have to be in the gym for an obnoxious amount of time. Freight House = 30 minute classes!

  3. More than just a membership! Health and fitness are about so much more than just the number on the scale or what you do in the gym, I needed somewhere that could help me refine my healthy eating even with my food allergies. Freight House = nutritional advice INCLUDED!

  4. Inclusive environment! Lastly, I wanted an environment where I would feel comfortable and confident. Due to having scoliosis, there are certain exercises I cannot do, or need to modify and I didn't want to feel like I was being judged for it. I was also hoping to find a place Braden would enjoy going to as well (I convinced him to join the second 6-week challenge and he's hooked now too). Freight House = gym family in the most literal sense of the word!

To say that I had no idea I had picked MY perfect gym is an understatement. But here I am. After a 12 week bootcamp that kicked my ass, in every way possible, still waking up at 4:30am and willing to do it again. THAT is what a gym should be and that's what I've found at Freight House! Am I 100% where I want to be on my fitness journey, no. But, do I have the support and resources to get there, yes!I work in data analytics so my fitness journey, to this point, can best be summed up "by the numbers":

Weeks of Class: 12Number of Classes: 70Pounds Lost: 13Inches Lost: 7Body Fat Lost: 6%Muscle Gained: Everywhere!Confidence Gained: Priceless!
