Teresa gets shredded in 90 days!
SUCCESS STORY"I didn’t start working out until about 5 years ago, and while I have never been considered overweight, I’ve also NEVER been ‘in shape’. I decided I wanted to start working out because I was 41 years old I didn’t want to be 10 years down the road and have to start doing something to get in shape and stay in shape during the time when my metabolism would be even slower and I would have to work even harder.I’ve done everything from spin classes to kickboxing and running with only a few days of strength training over the last 5 years. I did enjoy all of those things but when I realized I wasn’t feeling a difference in my endurance anymore, I dropped the spin and kickboxing, I figure if I can’t sweat after 45 min of hitting and kicking a bag or spinning into eternity on a bike, then something wasn’t working anymore. I decided I would focus more on strength training with a bit of cardio in between.I saw a change in my body when I switched my routine, but not enough of a change due to my nutrition being WAY off. I love carbs- the bad carbs, cookies, cake, CHEETOS! Everything I would do to make progress at the gym would be for nothing when I got home and raided the pantry, thinking ‘hey it’s ok because I just worked out’, but in reality, I never felt ‘healthy’ on the inside.Last year, my life in the ‘gym’ changed due to events going on in my personal life with the ending of a relationship, who was also my workout partner, so I lost motivation to even get myself to the gym, therefore it really set me back a lot, all the work I achieved was gone. But then……In February 2016, a friend from work told me about a place, a ‘bootcamp’ that she attended on lunch hour. I thought I would give it a try since it was so close to work, and it was only a 30 minute class. That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Freighthouse Fitness. I became ‘addicted’ to it, in a way I have never been with working out. I love the class atmosphere and the combination of cardio and strength training and I can do anything for 30 minutes! That to me was a sign that this was where I needed to be, where I would thrive and a place that would give me the results I wanted. Most days after a workout I feel like I’ve spent hours in the gym which says a lot considering I was only in class for 30 minutes, that is how intense the workouts are.I heard about the 90 day challenge and thought to myself ‘go for it’! I wanted to give it all I had and I needed to be accountable, with the nutritional guidance and weekly weigh-ins, I knew it would keep me accountable. I had never heard of ‘macros’, so it took me a week or two to figure it out, but once I did it was easy. I was finally eating the right way, getting the proper nutrition, support from not only Sean and Kendra, but from EVERYONE at Freighthouse, and the best workouts to keep my metabolism up and make me stronger on the inside and out. Every week I got stronger and stronger, pushing myself with heavier weights, more reps and more rounds. The process works!! Sean and Kendra know exactly how to get you the results you are looking for. I have to say that I have never been this ‘in shape’ ever in my life. Freighthouse isn’t just about a 90 day challenge to get you the results you want, It’s a place you call home, and keep going back for more! I have met so many fun and supportive people since I joined back in February, made life-long friends as well, it truly is a very nurturing atmosphere and I can’t even imagine ever joining another ‘gym’.Since my challenge started in April 2016, I lost 4% body fat and 15 pounds, but the most important thing to me is how I feel on the inside and out. I am on a new adventure now, personal training sessions with Kendra Van Horn to get even stronger, to focus on building more muscle and it’s going great!
