Mom of 2 loses 19 pounds in 90 days!
SUCCESS STORY!"I am a wife, a mom to 2 beautiful kids and work full-time in the corporate world. I have always been passionate about running since I ran my first Marathon in 2003. I was always active, ate healthy most of the time but still felt I had not reached my fitness potential. Running kept me positive and allowed "me" time. In March of this year, I turned 40 and was ready to change my workout routine since my body was not changing. I had joined a gym and went everyday but was not seeing the results that I wanted. I still had that 10 lbs baby weight that I could not get rid of. I always knew that I needed strength training but did not know how to do it on my own. In April, my friend found a groupon for Freight House 30 minutes bootcamp classes and I was ready to join! When I stepped into Freight House Fitness the first day, Sean and Kendra were so friendly and welcoming. The Freight House community was inspiring and positive. Every class was challenging, fun and different each day. I never sweated so much after a 30 minute workout so I was hooked!I am always up for a challenge so when I heard about the 90 days challenge, I couldn't wait to sign up. Sean and Kendra provided a customized nutrition plan and helped me list out my fitness goals. I learned that I was not eating enough calories especially being a runner. I always thought that eating fewer calories would make me lose weight. I learned the importance of counting "macros" and about "flexible dieting". I logged all my meals into Myfitnesspal, prepped my meals every Sunday and did weekly weight ins. It was so great to have the support from Sean and Kendra and others doing the challenge to keep me accountable and motivated. I loved the motivation that the competition gave me, but what I loved more was the sense of community that I got from being in a room with others who were all there for the same reason, struggling, sweating, and working out together.Doing the 90 day challenge has been the most amazing experience. After 2 kids, I never thought I could get my tummy to be toned again or lose the extra 10 lbs that I gained. I didn't expect to see results in just 12 weeks. I lost 19 lbs and 7% body fat! When my kids started to notice and say "mommy, you have abs", that was when I realized it was working for me. I am very proud of setting a good example to my children about the importance of healthy eating and exercising, and love when they want to exercise with me. I have gained a lot of strength and endurance that has helped me run faster. I recently ran in the Plaza 10k and the KC Half Marathon and had a personal record for both! I can hold a plank for 4 minutes, do 50 push-ups in one minute, and 40 sit-ups in one minute. My next goal will be to compete in my first fitness competition in April.I am so thankful to Sean and Kendra for encouraging me to reach my goals and for believing in me. The 90 Days Challenge has taught me that this is not just a weight loss program but a lifestyle. Thanks to my friends at Freight House Fitness- you guys are the best! Lastly, thanks to my amazing husband for his support and getting the kids to school so I can workout out at 6 am everyday. It was definitely tough and I learned a lot throughout my journey.
