Melissa makes impossible, possible!

When I was younger, I thought I would be “thin" when I got to high school. Then I told myself college was going to be the “thin" years. But who was I kidding, college = beer + 24/7 pizza. So it was going to be after college and then I would tell myself when I reach certain age. And during those different points in my life I would lose some weight and then gain it all back and something a little extra. (Beer and pizza really got me good!)Last November, something clicked for me and I decided I was done waiting. The first step was examining what “thin” really meant to me and my body type. After many Pinterest searches and inspirational/motivational videos, I realized I don’t want to be thin, I want to be strong! The next step was signing up for the 90 Day Challenge with Freight House. My first challenge started in January of 2016 and after completing, I was down 10 lbs and 4% body fat. I was/am still very proud of that weight loss, but most importantly, I’m proud of what I gained. I learned what/how to eat. I learned that food prep was key to having a successful week. But I needed more time, so Sean and Kendra worked with me to continue for another 90 days. It was during this 2nd round of the challenge that the lifestyle of eating well really started to settle in for me. I had a lot more “cheat” days but the way I was cheating had changed. Instead of going for candy or sweets, I had a extra handful of nuts.I have lost a total of 21 lbs and 12% body fat and gain so much strength, not just physically but mentally. “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” St. Francis of AssisiI kept putting limits on myself, but the moment I stopped limiting myself the impossible became possible. My journey is not over, but today I am stronger, faster and capable of doing more then I was yesterday. I want to thank my Freight House Family for pushing me just a little further to make the impossible into possible! I know that I have taken some time off, but I am ready to get back at it!To Sean and Kendra, thank you for creating an environment that is welcoming, inspiring, fun and worthwhile to wake up at 5:15AM everyday!
