Lou’s PT: It’s a Mindset

While my training style maybe intense, my personal training style is very unique. It is built around the two ideas. One that anyone can live a healthy lifestyle, and because everyone is different, this requires me to work with everyone in a unique way. And two, growth and success come through chasing goals. Most people come to me with a goal of some sort whether that be to lose weight, gain weight, get ready for some sort of competition, tone up, or just maintain where they are at, everyone has something in mind. While some goals are easier to achieve than others, nothing drives me more than helping people be their best through the process. The process is what sets you up for success, and its where any good personal trainer or coach joins you on your journey.Anytime someone is working hard to achieve something there will always be setbacks. Setbacks with personal goals are where we find out who we are as individuals, and where success is built. I love helping people though that journey. Maybe you are starting your journey with a setback, some bad news from the doctor or a comment from someone close that struck home. Setbacks can happen as a result of choice or they can happen out of no where with nothing we could have done to prevent them. Setbacks are really what make us stronger, and it is in the setback that we must continue the journey. It is a mindset that says, “Just keep going. Control what you can. Trust the process.”Recently our gym had a setback in the form of a fire in the building we were located in causing us to relocate. Not even 24 hours after that fire I was leading a group of 8 people through a workout in the streets of the west bottoms at 6 AM on a chilly 30 degree January morning. It is this kind of response to setbacks that breads success. I love helping my clients find success in that next step, while it may look different for everyone, striving forward is where I push my clients. Perhaps the success doesn’t come in the fashion that we expect or want it to, but in my mind any growth is some sort of success. What are your goals? What's your next step? How can I help you?
