Christina Loses 9.3lbs and 4 Inches!
I had taken a pretty long hiatus from lifting weights. For perspective, I hadn't consistently worked out or lifted weights since my college basketball career ended, 8 years ago. I would workout here and there, ride the bike or treadmill, but to be honest I never kept with it or took it very seriously. I decided to join Freight House Fitness because I found a sweet deal on Groupon, some of my friends had been going, AND I wanted to get "beach-bod ready" for my upcoming birthday celebration in the Bahamas. Instantly, I fell in love with the gym. It provided a sense of community that brought me back to the college basketball days. I would start to see the same people going to the classes I went to, there was a sense of accountability + teamwork, and it was always challenging. I also realized how much I enjoyed having someone create a workout for me, just showing up, and it being 30 minutes. Yes, that is right - only 30 minutes!
After getting back from the Bahamas (and eating alllll the food and drinking alllll the drinks), I decided I wanted to continue working out at Freight House Fitness. Conveniently, the 30 Day Shred was beginning right as I was getting back. I learned that the program was more than just working out; it included watching your nutrition (yikes)! If anyone knows me, I hate to cook and I literally eat out for most of my meals. So this was definitely going to be a challenge for me. This meant no more Chipotle with a side of chips and salsa 2-3x's per week and actually cooking.
Over the 30 Day Shred, I meal prepped, paid attention to what I was eating, consistently worked out (seriously, I was doing hotel workouts when I was traveling for work), and felt better than ever. I was dedicated to working out 6x a week and it forced me to leave the office right at 5 to make the
5:15
class (sorry, boss)!
In 30 days
, I lost 9lbs, 4 total inches, and 1% body fat. Oh and I kind of know how to cook now. So a win, win - right?
I would highly recommend joining Freight House Fitness. The trainers are incredible and I am finally back in the groove of getting stronger and having a healthier lifestyle. I love that every day is a new challenge and I continue to push myself by increasing weights and paying attention to my nutrition by not falling back into my "old ways!" But, sometimes it's okay to treat yo'self and get some ice cream at Betty Rae's. Just sayin'!
