Christina gets in amazing shape!

IMG_0682 (2)"When I started my new job, I knew I needed to find a gym close to work so that I would be able to hold myself accountable instead of getting home and claiming to be “too tired.” Fortunately, after a quick google search, I found Freight House Fitness. After scrolling through the website, I felt like it was something I should check out because of the sense of community, the low price, and the transformation photos.I’ve always been an athlete. Working out has never been a challenge for me because I truly feel restless if I go a few days without getting my muscles fired up. What was a challenge was pushing myself in the gym. I would often do a few exercises and then feel tired and decide to go do some cardio. What an even bigger challenge for me is diet.I didn’t realize how skewed my perspective was until I started counting macros. A full week into my new membership with Freight House Fitness, I started hearing people talk about the 90 Day Challenge and having seen the transformation photos previously, I became even more intrigued. They were talking about “meeting their protein” “going over on fat for the day” and “not being able to eat enough carbs.” Although I was no stranger to what food consists of, I had never thought of diet in this perspective, although I’ve always known I struggle to eat enough protein.By the end of my first week, I messaged Sean to ask when the next 90 Day Challenge started and even though I was week behind, he told me to jump on board for that April-July challenge and I could not be more thankful that I did. Having to focus on my diet was an experiment, it easily took me a month and a half before I got the whole macros thing figured out. But to this day, I still look at a plate of food and think “that’s high in fat” or “that would be my whole carbs for the day, not worth it” and it is something I cherish, the knowledge to be able to fuel my body for performance or whatever my goals are at that time.To this day, seven months after the close of my first challenge, I still pay attention to the macros I intake daily. Sure, I struggled over the holidays, to which I claimed I was “bulking” and made sure to compensate by pushing myself in the gym; but until I can accurately calculate my proper intake, without tracking, I will continue. It allows me to know I am giving my body the correct energy it needs, to be able to accomplish my goals.I am so thankful for the community at Freight House because there is always someone available to hold you accountable, to push you to pick up the heavier weights, or to relate with on the best high-protein recipes. I wouldn’t be able to get up at 5:15 every morning if it wasn’t for the people that make Freight House possible. I look forward to April, when my one year Freight Housiversary comes around and I can compare the difference a year of dedication, encouragement, and community can make." - Christina13662513_10154293874412974_1376027951_o
