Mike loses 50 lbs!

IMG_2082New Me Journey photographySUCCESS STORY!How you startedIn 2005 I had reach the pinnacle of fitness in my own personal life. I was lean and stronger than I had ever been. However as the years progressed I struggled with the yo-yo affects of my diet and training. I slowly started eating more and working out less. What was once muscle, turned to fat. This progressed until it hit the tipping point in the beginning of 2015. I had let life's stress get to me, allowing for comfort food to take over and a reclusive way of life to set in--people cannot judge how you look if they cannot see you. I kept my head down in the hallways at work and in public. I ate whatever I wanted to make me feel better. I stayed away from public places and I never let anyone take pictures of me. My health and MOST importantly my self esteem were spiraling out of control and loved ones around me became concerned. It was not until I realized I had started having a serious shortness of breath, poor circulation, could not even bend over from a seated position and tie my own shoes, that I purchased the biggest clothes I had ever worn in my lifetime and even they didn't fit. At 6 feet tall I had reached an unhealthy 260 pounds and it was at this point I knew things had gotten out of control. The processOver the course of a year I went from 260 pounds to around 230 pounds, but I was having a hard time going beyond that. I needed guidance. I have known Sean for many years and I knew about his gym, Freight House Fitness.  I never had a personal trainer before and I wanted to reach out to someone I knew who could get results. Sean and I talked about my goals and the life style changes I would need to make to be successful. Told him I had a vision of being at 6% body fat and I wanted to know what that looked like, but the road ahead  was not going to be easy. Understanding how to properly utilize macros and track weight was a integral piece of the process, but flexible dieting made it much easier. It was the rigorous training that would test my limits. However with Sean's guidance I was able to crush my goals. I went from almost 230lbs to 183lbs and 6% body fat. None of which would have been possible without Sean. Future plansHaving reached my goal of 6% body fat, I am now on a mission to slowly repair my metabolism and work on bringing my calorie intake up to a more realistic level. Over the course of this I'm looking to now put on a good amount of muscle and stay lean. Because your journey does not stop when you reach your goal, for me it's just the beginning.
