Blog Post 06: What we do and why we love it!!
Alarm goes off & Its 445, walking around the house half asleep while pouring some coffee to get those eye lids above half mass. Worship music on the radio on the drive to the gym while it’s still dark out. Walking up four flights of stairs in an old freight house building and unlocking the door to our wonderland. Welcome to Freight House Fitness! People pour in for the 6 am boot camp anticipating what we will have on the plate for them. As they wait we chat and catch up on their life, gear them up for the brutal 30 minutes to come and boom its 6 on the dot, class has started!!Smiles, laughter and eagerness grace the faces as we begin 30 minutes of non- stop High Intensity full body weighted cardio workouts. Grunts, Sweat maybe a few tears and determination is in the eyes of the clients. Switching every 45 seconds the clients stay engaged, breathing, focusing on their form, keeping that heart rate up and then were on to the next workout. With Sean with half of the group and I with with other we are able to keep the focus on the clients and push them while focusing on their form and technique. After about 15 minutes of one circuit we switch it up to another circuit, keeping the clients interested and focused. Rest you ask?? We give active rest to the ones that need it but other than that we are pushing through for a solid 30 minute interval workout!! After the class is over the clients are toast. They came, brought their best; we kicked their butts and now they’re ready to take on what the day has to offer! After the boot camp Sean and I talk and reflect on our 30 minutes. Our usual comment is man, that was brutal! Having put ourselves through the workout the day before, it allows us to have more of a connection with the clients and their workout. We offer 30 min workouts 3 times a day 6am, 12 and 6pm leaving us with time in between to offer one on one training as well. This dynamic is so great because we are able to offer different services to fit different people’s needs. Our mission at freight house fitness is to bring your spirit alive. Do what makes you happy and leaves you feeling full! We focus on positive reinforcement paired with self- love and inner healing. We meet people where they are at and build them up from there. When you walk through our doors you will find a motivational weekly quote under our have faith portion on our chalk board wall. “I am” statements like I am Secure, I am Loved, I am precious, I am worthy & I am priceless. We gear our gym towards mental and spiritual wellness along with physical wellness. It’s a total package; you can’t have one without the other. This sort of environment is something Sean and I love and desire for ourselves as well. To know you can walk into our gym and leave all your worries, stress of the day at the door and just focus on you is the best feeling ever. In those four walls we build community, encourage each other, talk about life, act silly and enjoy a little break from the craziness of our day.Changing lives is something Sean and I have always been passionate about. Seeing peoples spirits freed and heaviness lifted off their shoulders give us such joy. Hearing our clients feed back about how they just feel so great when they come in and when they leave, how it doesn't feel like they’re going to work out when they come to Freight House and how they just have so much energy for the rest of their day. These little comments are like music to our ears. Knowing we can provide an environment that people love being a part of tells us we are doing things right.I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and be uncomfortable, when we are uncomfortable that when we are going to grow.
