Your body changes as you age, and I wasn’t liking what I was experiencing. When I was younger, my weight had always been stable, but after age 45, things seemed to change quickly. I got to a point where I decided I was going to put up a fight instead of letting old age happen. My clothes didn’t fit anymore, and I was out of shape. I didn’t want to go buy new clothes just to be comfortable; I wanted to feel better on the inside and look better on the outside. I knew that exercise and nutrition were the answer. I had always done some sort of exercise throughout my life, including aerobics, yoga, Pilates and barre. I participated in a variety of classes and, at first, I would be really motivated, but then I’d get bored and quit. About a year before coming to Freight House Fitness, I had been doing barre, but my joints were bothering me and I wanted to try something new. I had worked out at Freight House Fitness once when my company had an event there. I went with a friend and I loved it, she not so much, and I didn’t want to join by myself. A couple years passed but I’d been reading the transformation stories, which were truly inspiring. I knew that there was a 90-day fitness challenge coming up in July 2017, so I decided to join and commit to it. The challenge was just what I needed, a really difficult challenge, which included logging all my food, making smart food choices and working out four to six times a week. I loved that the classes were different every single day, so I was never bored. Sean and the instructors at FHF also encouraged us to meet others by incorporating partners into the workouts. By the end of the 90 days, I exceeded my weight loss goal, and I’ve even lost a few more pounds since then. Even though I’m at a weight range that I’m happy with and I am stronger than ever, I’m excited for the next six-week challenge to continue my fitness journey with Freight House.
