Alexandra learns lifelong knowledge
“It’s okay if I eat that, I exercised today,” was the main premise of my nutritional plan for the majority of my life. Food and I had what could be classified as an unhealthy relationship. I had always been active (from playing sports growing up to teaching group fitness through college and young adulthood) and was under the impression that my activity level somehow offset how poorly I was eating. In the last year, I started to notice that even though I was meeting exercise goals, my body was really changing. I had a bad habit of working out really hard, but then coming home and binge eating. One evening while scrolling through notifications on Facebook, I was completely horrified when I saw a candid picture of myself and thought “I cannot really be that heavy!” That shock and embarrassment led me to start researching nutritional counselling and coaching programs. I was prepared to shell out hundreds of dollars for a nutritional therapist, when I encountered the 90 Day Challenge at Freighthouse. I attended one “trial” bootcamp, talked with Sean about the Challenge after class, and two days later I started the Challenge! The daily 30 minute workouts are a great compliment to the fitness routine that I already had going, but what I really gained from the Challenge was a new knowledge about food. Prior to the challenge I knew that I probably shouldn’t eat an entire box of crackers in one sitting, but didn’t really understand that in doing so, I was eating about 6 days’ worth of carbs (yikes!). The Challenge allowed me to make better choices, knowing what I needed to hit calorie and nutrient wise.Over the course of the 90 days I lost 16 pounds and 11% body fat. I’m so thankful for the life changing knowledge that I gained from the Freighthouse trainers!" - AlexandraTo find out more information on the 90 day challenge please contact us at freighthousefitness@gmail.com
